Skeletons in the Attic follows the storyline of Callie’s investigation into her past after her father passes away suddenly and leaves a note telling Callie that her mother was murdered when Callie was a child.
The concept of this book was intriguing. Initially, there were a lot of twists and turns that kept me flipping the pages as fast as I could. However, as the book began to drag on, the storyline that I thought would get juicier and juicier actually became more and more predictable.
The ending of this book was rather forced, and it didn’t feel as well thought out as it could’ve been. To me, there was a different way to take this book that would’ve added a few more twists and had a more exciting ending that was actually taken.
Overall, it was an entertaining-enough read, but I don’t see myself picking this one up again like I do with, say, an Agatha Christie or a Kathy Reichs novel.
