Cruella

4/5 Stars

Cruella is now streaming on Disney+ for all subscribers! If you haven’t watched this yet, I highly recommend it.

I’ve consistently enjoyed every backstory for the infamous villains Disney produces (i.e. Maleficent), but Cruella lived up to my expectations as well.

It starts off a bit more fantastical than one may expect from this type of a movie, but there are several surprising twists and turns throughout the film.

The dark theme carried throughout the movie wasn’t too much at any point, nor was it cheesy. However, if you’re planning on letting your little ones watch this movie, you may want to watch it once through on your own first, as there is some violence (i.e. fire, falling to one’s death, etc.) that may not be suitable for all ages.

I will admit, the animation and some of the dialogue at the beginning of the movie came across a little cheesy, but keeping in mind that it is a Disney movie, it’s forgivable.

Overall, I’ve been recommending this movie to all of my friends and family who have asked me about it, as it’s a thoroughly entertaining movie.

Emma Stone and Emma Thompson never fail to disappoint, and brought their characters spectacularly to life in this film.

They left the ending sort of open-ended, and I’ve read rumors about a Cruella 2. If this is the case, then I can’t wait for the sequel!
